June 3 2000, -at least 10 people were killed and 50 others injured of whom 13 critically, in a terrible bomb explosion
at a Christian Church at Baniachar village under Moksedpur upazila in Gopalgonj district this morning.
The explosion occurred at about 7-45 a.m. when nearly four hundred members of local Christian community assembled at the
Catholic Church, about 19 kilometers away from here, for offering their Sunday mass.Nine people were killed on hte spot while
the other succumbed to his injuries at Faridpur medical college Hospital after admission.
Police officials from Gopalgonj quoting local people said that it was possibly a Time bomb which was kept earlier near
the bookshelf of the church that suddenly exploded with a bid bang.
